Baez to Receive Video Tribute

Former Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez will make his first appearance at Wrigley Field since he was traded to the Detroit Tigers in 2021.

Baez will start at shortstop Tuesday in his first game at the Friendly Confines since he played for the Cubs in 2021.

The Tigers are scheduled to play the Chicago White Sox in a two-game series at Wrigley Field on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Baez is expected to receive a video tribute from the Cubs before the game.

The 29-year-old Baez was a two-time All-Star with the Cubs and played a key role in the team's 2016 World Series championship.

He was traded to the Tigers in July 2021 for a package of prospects.

Baez is hitting .281 with 17 home runs and 57 RBIs this season.
